Head lice treatment at home in Queens

A specialist comes to your home in Queens and removes lice and nits with a pesticide-free comb-out. Most families need one visit, plus a free recheck within ten days.

Same-day visits are usually available — often at your door within a couple of hours.

What to expect

What our treatment includes

We use a pesticide-free comb-out method: conditioner, sectioning clips, and stainless-steel combs, repeated until each section comes out clean. It removes both lice and nits, which is why it works when drugstore kits haven't.

  • Pesticide-free — no harsh chemicals on your child's scalp
  • Gentle enough for young children
  • Written confirmation of treatment for your school
  • A free recheck within ten days
  • Happy to see both floors of a two-family house in a single visit

Most treatments take a couple of hours, depending on hair length and thickness. Your kid can watch a show or bring a book — it's just combing, done patiently.

In Queens

Queens visits are usually houses — two-family homes with their own upstairs entrance, or garden apartments in the low-rise complexes around Forest Hills and Jackson Heights. There is normally a driveway, a kitchen table, and enough space to see more than one child in the same sitting, which is how we prefer to work anyway.

Queens appointments are booked with the travel built in, so the arrival window is wide while the visit itself is not rushed. Once we are at your table we stay until each section comes out clean.

How it works

What a visit looks like

01

Everyone gets checked

We start by checking each member of the household. Treating only the child who was sent home is the most common reason lice come back.

Fifteen to thirty minutes

02

The comb-out

Conditioner, sectioning clips, and a stainless-steel comb, pass after pass, until each section comes out clean. Pesticide-free, and calm enough that most kids just watch a show.

A couple of hours, depending on hair

03

Your home, in plain terms

Before we leave, we'll tell you exactly what to wash and what to skip. Lice don't survive long off the scalp, so the list is shorter than the internet suggests.

04

The recheck

We come back for a free follow-up comb-through to confirm everything is clear.

Free within ten days

Who comes to your home

The people behind the combs

You’re letting someone into your home in Queens, often on a stressful day. Here’s what you can count on about whoever we send.

Insured and background-checked

The practice carries professional liability insurance, and everyone we send has passed a background check. We're glad to show proof of either before you book.

Background-checked

Everyone we send into a family's home has passed a background check. No exceptions, including during busy outbreak weeks.

Trained before they work alone

Every specialist trains with our lead on detection, comb technique, and how to keep a restless six-year-old comfortable in a chair.

Experienced with this, specifically

Head lice are all we do. We've been making in-home visits since 2020, and there isn't much we haven't seen at a kitchen table.

What Queens parents told us afterward

A few notes from families who booked lice treatment with us.

One visit at our apartment, start to finish. She combed conditioner through in small sections and rinsed the comb between passes so I could see the progress myself.
Jen K., Queens
No chemicals and no fumes, which mattered in our small one-bedroom. Just careful comb work, and it held up at the recheck.
Robert W., Queens

From our families

What parents tell us afterward

They came the same evening I called, checked all three kids, and only one needed treatment. No lecture, no upsell — just calm, clear help.
Sarah M., Park Slope, Brooklyn
Our school sent my son home on a Friday. By Saturday morning he'd been treated, with paperwork the nurse accepted on Monday.
Michael R., Upper West Side, Manhattan
I'd already tried two drugstore kits before giving up and calling. One visit and the follow-up recheck, and we've been clear since.
Lisa K., Astoria, Queens
