A local practice

We know how lice moves through this city

Classrooms, sleepovers, camp buses. After years of home visits across the five boroughs, very little about an outbreak surprises us — and that calm tends to be contagious.

Schools and their paperwork

We've worked alongside dozens of schools and daycares over the years, so we know most re-entry policies and can send documentation the nurse will accept — often the same day as the visit.

Every kind of home

Walk-up in Astoria, brownstone in Park Slope, high-rise in Midtown — we bring everything with us, set up wherever the light is good, and leave the kitchen the way we found it.

Built around city schedules

Small apartments, long commutes, siblings on different schedules. We arrive in plain clothes, work around nap times and homework, and keep the whole thing low-key.

A small practice, on purpose

We've been making home visits since 2020, and most new families still come to us the old way — one parent telling another it worked.

What to expect

How a visit works

No machines, no sprays — just a methodical comb-out at your own kitchen table, from the first phone call to the follow-up.

01

A short phone call

Tell us what you've seen — a note from school, an itchy scalp, something on the comb. We'll say honestly whether a visit makes sense and can usually offer a time the same day.

02

A careful check

We check every head in the household under good light, sectioning the hair with a stainless-steel comb. Often only one person actually needs treatment.

03

The comb-out

Our method is pesticide-free: conditioner, fine-toothed stainless-steel combs, and patience, working small sections until the comb comes back clean. Bring a book for your kid — most visits take two to four hours.

04

The recheck

You get plain aftercare instructions, documentation your school will accept, and a free recheck within ten days so nothing slips through.

Why families call us

The way we'd want it done for our own kids

Pesticide-free, start to finish

We rely on thorough combing rather than chemical treatments, which matters when the head in question belongs to a toddler or an expectant mom.

Same-day visits, most days

Lice rarely shows up at a convenient time. We keep room in the schedule Sunday through Friday, and can usually see you the day you call.

A practice built on referrals

More than five hundred families have called us since 2020, and most found us the same way — a friend, a neighbor, another parent at pickup.

We stand behind the work

Every visit ends with plain aftercare instructions and a free recheck within ten days. If we missed something, we come back.

Common questions

What parents usually ask first

Is the treatment safe for children?

Yes. We use a comb-out method with no pesticides or chemical treatments, so it is safe for children of any age, including infants.

How long does a visit take?

Most visits take two to four hours, depending on hair length and how much we find. We'd rather be thorough once than quick twice.

Can you come today?

Usually. We keep room in the schedule for same-day visits and can often be at your door within a couple of hours.

What does a visit include?

The head check, the full comb-out, plain aftercare instructions, documentation for school, and a free recheck within ten days.

What parents tell us afterward

A few of our families, in their own words.

She sectioned my daughter's hair clip by clip at the kitchen table while I made dinner. Two hours, no tears, and she showed me every nit on a paper towel so I knew it was really done.
Dana R., Riverdale
Second case in one school year. Same specialist both times, which my son appreciated more than I expected.
Marcus T., Bed-Stuy
I was embarrassed to even call. Nobody made me feel like a bad parent — they just set up by the window, put a movie on for the kids, and worked through it.
Priya S., Forest Hills
