We use a pesticide-free comb-out method: conditioner, sectioning clips, and stainless-steel combs, repeated until each section comes out clean. It removes both lice and nits, which is why it works when drugstore kits haven't.

Most treatments take a couple of hours, depending on hair length and thickness. Your kid can watch a show or bring a book — it's just combing, done patiently.
In the Bronx
Bronx appointments are mostly apartments: a kitchen table, a chair carried in from another room, and the lamp we bring. In the older buildings along the Concourse the windows are generous enough that we barely need it. Out toward Throggs Neck and City Island the homes are houses, and we set up in the kitchen with room to walk around the chair.
If more than one child needs treating, tell us when you call. Bronx visits are scheduled with the drive at one end of the day, so adding a second or third head is far easier than adding a second trip.
